The hexatic state is an intermediate phase between a vortex solid to a vortex liquid in 2D superconductors which was predicted in the original paper of Kosterlitz and Thouless. Recently a vortex-fluid hexatic state was found in thin films of MoGe. We study this state using the Nernst effect which has been recognized as a most effective tool to study superconducting vortex motion.
